Honor and Remembrance under the Texas Sky
Celebrate the Victory. Encourage the Fight. Honor the Memory.
Thank you to our 2008 sponsors and in-kind donors for supporting the 2008 Starlight Gala!
In its 13th year, the Starlight Gala is unique in that it is a black-tie event produced entirely by young professionals average age range of 25-45, who are passionate about giving back to the Houston community. It is also unique in that we honor a Shining Star recipient for his/her committment to the mission of the American Cancer Society.
We have just announced our 2008 Shining Star! Please join us in congratulating Peggy Rhoads, who will be honored at this year's gala. Peggy was the Director of Development for the Sunshine Kids from March 2004 through July 2006. In 3 years, Peggy able to help increase funding for their annual croquet tournament from an average $10k to $30k per tournament. Peggy inspired tournament volunteers to get involved with Sunshine Kids in many other aspects due to her warmth, enthusiasm and appreciation of all those she worked with. Peggy's primary involvement with Sunshine Kids was fund-raising and development and she went above and beyond and worked with the children in all capacities. More information about Peggy will be posted soon.
