Location: Edwin Hornberger Conference Center in the Texas Medical Center (south side of the 2151 West Holcombe Building on H. Pressler Street)
Time: 7:30pm to midnight
Guests will be treated to a night of dancing, fine foods, silent auction treasures and much, much more, as we honor those who have lost their fight to cancer and those who are fighting or have fought the battle.

Yee haw, y'all! It is with great excitement that we announce the 13th Annual Starlight Gala benefiting the American Cancer Society. This year’s gala will be held at The Edwin Hornberger Conference Center on Saturday, March 29, 2008. We are very pleased to be this year’s event chairs and hope that you will saddle up to help make the event the most successful yet!
The Starlight Gala has become a benchmark for young professionals to get involved with philanthropy on a much larger scale than ever before. Both of us have family members who battled cancer. Some have won their battle and gone on to live healthy, productive lives while others have courageously lost their battle. It’s in their spirit that the two of us volunteer for this very worthy cause. It’s up to our generation to win this battle for everyone! Our goal at the end of the day is to conquer cancer. In conjunction with generous supporters like you, the American Cancer Society is one step closer.
In the past 12 years, the Starlight Gala has raised more than a million dollars for cancer research, education, advocacy and service. In our 13th year, it is our goal to raise over $125,000! We are confident that we will exceed our goal with the support of the Houston community and our outstanding chairs and committee members.
In this 13th year, we are bringing things close to home as we honor Texas with a Lone Star Tribute! With a live Texas music band, a Southern style fashion show, and finger-lickin’ good food, we have turned up the heat to get things rockin’ in the barn! We have pulled out all the stops this year to make sure that this year brings your two-step spirit out!
Without wonderful donors, such as you, the American Cancer Society and the Starlight Gala could never survive. Everyday we are inspired by donors who give back to their communities and share in the joy of giving. Cancer patients and survivors are forever indebted to you and to all of those who bring them one step closer to a better life. So dust off those boots, get your saddles ready and let’s have a great time with a “Lone Star Tribute: Honor and Remembrance under the Texas Sky!”
