Sponsorship Opportunities

To ensure the success of the American Cancer Society’s vision to eradicate cancer, we look to individuals and businesses in the Houston community to underwrite the Starlight Gala.  We would like graciously thank all of those who participate by endorsing an underwriting category, purchasing a table, or donating their time, services and merchandise.

You are cordially invited to join us as we kick off our 13th year of dedication to the American Cancer Society.  We would like to extend our sincere gratitude for your continued support of the American Cancer Society through our Starlight Gala.  In the past 12 years, this signature event has raised over $1,100,000 for the Houston Chapter for its use in research, education, patient services and advocacy. 

This promises to be a spectacular night for Houston and the American Cancer Society.  We are optimistic about the future, but still have a great deal to do before we reach our goal of prevention and a cure in our lifetime.  Please join the fight by supporting our efforts as sponsors, underwriters and distinguished guests.  It is only through your generous spirit that we can continue the battle against this dreaded disease.

Underwriting/Table Sponsorships – Underwriters and Table Sponsors enable us to provide gala guests with a night of music and lively entertainment.  They enjoy premier seating the night of gala and receive name and logo recognition as well as many more amenities. 

In-kind Sponsors – In-kind sponsors donate non-cash items for all facets of the gala – food, beverage, decorations, Silent Auction, Mystery Gift Box, Raffle and much, much more.

Goody Bag Items - Goody bag item sponsors enable us to provide give-away items to each gala guest that will remind them of this fabulous night. Each goody bag item will include your company's logo.

As an underwriter of the Starlight Gala, you will be recognized for your philanthropy as a leader in the fight against cancer.  In appreciation of your contribution, your name/company’s name will receive the following amenities based on level of contribution.

Fashion Show  $6,000
A Lone Star tribute wouldn’t be complete without a Texas sized fashion show! An event on its own, don’t miss the opportunity to show off your company logo to the hundreds of people prepared to attend! 

Rentals  $5,000
The chow down at the gala isn’t complete without the place settings! The drinks aren’t as strong without the glasses! And the opportunity to be recognized as the underwriter for our necessities will be memorable!

Staffing  $5,000
While we are all boot scootin’ and sharing the Southern hospitality with each other, the last thing we want to do is serve ourselves! Become the underwriter of the necessary large staffing it takes to host all the rowdy Texas patrons! 

Flowers  $5,000
A Tribute to Texas would not be complete without the flowers of Texas, such as bluebonnets, Indian paintbrushes and the wildflowers that landscape our grand state! Each flower will represent those that have lost their fight, those that are still in the fight and those that have won the fight against cancer!

 

Shooting Star $2,500 - $4,000

Food  $4,000
The chow hall is calling your name! With the city’s best bar-b-que, Mexican food and the tastes of Texas; become the reason everyone’s bellies are stuffed!

Valet  $3,000
Our wagons need to be parked and our horses need to be tied up, so become the underwriter of the valet service! Our parking attendants will hold the fort down in the parking lot while we get down inside the venue!

Casino Games  $3,000
Get lucky at the craps and black-jack tables and at the roulette wheel.  This is a very popular attraction at the Gala and gives players a chance to win special prizes designated specifically for gaming. 

Liquor  $2,450 each (2 underwriters)
Don’t let the well go dry! With multiple bars to fill, become an underwriter of the bar and be every patron’s best friend for the night! Be the cause of the Southern hospitality y’all!

 

Stargazer $1,000 - $2,000

Amenities:

• -Recognition in 1,300 invitations and 450 Gala programs

• -Four unreserved seats to the Gala with valet parking

The following categories are available as a Stargazer underwriter:

Chair Covers & Linens  $2,000
Chair covers and linens add that extra sparkle to the overall appearance of the gala and allow for uniformity throughout the venue.  As an underwriter of this category, you/your company will help make the venue shine under the Texas sky!

Printing   $2,000 each (2 underwriters)
Each year, the Starlight Gala prints out 250 underwriting packages, mails out 1,300 save the date cards and invitations, prints out 1,000 raffle tickets, hands out 450 gala programs to attendees and many signs for the event.  Printing is essential as we round up all the cowboys and the cowgirls!

Games of Chance  $1,000
Enjoy the fun and games at our new county fairground at the gala! Complete with horseshoes, cattle roping and more, you and your company are sure to win!  This category includes our popular Mystery Gift Boxes which are sure to delight the crowd with unknown treasures.

Silent Auction  $1,000
Each year the silent auction committee assembles items donated by area merchants and various other businesses to be auctioned off with the proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.  This is one of the hottest attractions at the gala and accounts for a large portion of our income at the gala itself.

 

Stardust $500 - $675

The following categories are available as a Stardust underwriter:

Decorations  $675 each (2 underwriters needed)
In order to throw a great tribute party, we need to decorate the venue in a Lone Star theme.  We are going to need Lone Star flags, cowboy boots, hats and more to transform the venue to a true hoe-down!

Stock the Bar  $500
The drinks just aren’t complete without the salt, limes, cherries and mixers that make a drink, a true Texas drink! Stock the bar and have your company be remembered at the end of the night!

 

Goody Bag Items $500 - $2,000

As an Underwriter of goody bag items, your company’s logo will be prominently placed on the particular item of your choice.  This is great advertising for your company since these items will be used long after the gala is over.   One of each item will be included in each goody bag.  If you would like to request an item not listed below, please let us know and we’ll try to honor your request.  The following goody bag items are available:

T-Shirts  $2,000
T-shirts are handed out to all guests at the gala as a lasting memento of the event.  The t-shirts will feature the underwriter’s logo on the sleeve of the t-shirt.  The t-shirt will be designed to coordinate with the overall theme of this year’s event.  T-shirts are worn in the community long after the event and are a great way for the underwriter and the gala to be visible past the event date.

Light-up Luggage Tags  $1,700
All of Texas is a great place to travel! Just think of where your name/logo will travel when you provide luggage tags to all gala guests! 

Sticky Notes  $1,325
Save the date of the gala on your company’s new sticky notes! These popular items are always useful around the house and office.  Your name/logo will appear on each pad of 50 3x3 notes. 

Travel Mugs  $1,325
For those cold mornings on the range, a cup of coffee or hot chocolate hits the spot.  These favors will be seen in homes and breakrooms across town with your name/logo. 

Lip Balm  $1,025
Keep lips moisturized when galloping around outside.  Each lip balm will include your name/logo as well as a “Save the Date” message for next year’s Gala. 

20 oz. Sports Bottle  $1,000
Stay hydrated with a cool drink in a sports bottle - sure to be seen in corrals around town!  Each bottle will include your name/logo.

Chip Clips  $850
The name of your company will be a fresh as the snacks they seal with your name/logo on each one. 

Star Stress Relievers  $850
Not sure what boots to wear to the gala? Don’t stress! These star-shaped stress relievers will calm you down!  Your name/logo will appear on each one. 

Can Kooozies  $775
Beat the Texas heat with a cold beverage and keep yourself cool with a collapsible foam can holder!  These are always a favorite and will include your name/logo. 

Calendars  $500
These credit card sized calendars are sure to be a hit the whole year through.  Your name/logo will appear on each one. 

Pens  $500
Who doesn’t need a pen?  Who knows, maybe your pen will write the next check to the Starlight Gala.  Your name/logo will appear on each one. 

 

Table Sponsorship $2,000 - $3,250

As a table sponsorship donor, you/your company will be entitled to reserve seating at the Gala with valet parking, complimentary food and beverages, recognition in 450 Gala programs and two invitations to the Donor VIP Party immediately preceding the Gala.

Astronomical  $3,250
Reserved table of 8 + 2 honorees 

You/your company will have the opportunity to honor the parents or legal guardians of a child who has won, lost or is battling cancer.  Part of the sponsorship will go towards gift certificates for the purchase of Gala attire for the honorees. This category includes reserved seats for 8 guests as well as 2 honorees and valet parking for all.

Milky Way $3,000
Reserved table of 10

You/your company will receive one reserved table for ten with premier seating to the Gala and valet parking.

Constellation $2,250
Reserved table of 4 + 2 honorees

You/your company will have the opportunity to honor the parents or legal guardians of a child who has won, lost or is battling cancer.  Part of the sponsorship will go towards gift certificates for the purchase of Gala attire for the honorees.  This category includes reserved seats for 4 guests as well as 2 honorees and valet parking for all.

Starry Night $2,000
